Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.

Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

I would honestly say, do not waste your time, it is not worth it. Reservations were made for a family of 17, yes this is big, I agree; though if you are not able to accommodate everyone at some type of table setting, then tell them. Arrived slightly early only to find absolutely no parking, anywhere. Cars were lined up in the street making a two lane road and very narrow one way. This was not only in part to customers trying to be creative but to their valet as well! Then when you finally make it inside, you can be greeted by a loud crowd busting out of every nook and cranny. Try to make your way to the bar, I dare you. If you should brave your way through the loud, already annoyed crowd you will be greeted by a hostess who acts like she is doing you a favor and you are nothing but an annoyance. As we all slowly made it inside to wait for our reservation time the clock ticked by, only to finally be seated 55 minutes after our reservation. Why even bother to make a reservation when they seat everyone and their brother before you? As we followed the hostess with the personality of a skunk we are seated at two different tables. So family I haven't seen in seven years are now seated with some family at one table and the other half at another, what a dysfunctional set up! You are not able to visit with out turning your body in some twisted contortion and yelling to one another. The service was nothing special. I will say the only pleasant smiling face I did see was from the gentlemen who cleared our plates. He was well mannered and just plain kind, some of his co-workers could take some notes. As for our waitress, she seemed frazzled and lost. I've have been a waitress myself, and can say this girl didn't want to be there. We asked for a high chair 3 times and never received one. We were given the wrong plates, I can brush that aside, who can't pass a plate to the right person. Though the food was nothing special. One had a New York Steak that had the texture of rubber, another had the fish which was frozen in the middle. I had the London Broil that was descent though the vegetables were of a slimy out of the can, slightly warmed up type. The baked potato was fine, though they only serve with sour cream, no butter or anything else, even as an option. The pricing for the dishes served here are quite pathetic as well. We ordered an array of dishes and everyone said the same thing, it was okay, but nothing special. I would have rather gone somewhere else. Then we received the bill, for the price we paid it should have been phenomenal, but all it came out to was pathetic. I would say you are better going somewhere else.

Pretty disappointing after previous experiences at this restaurant. Pluses: soup and salad were good. Cream of mushroom soup a definite winner. Had the butt steak and shrimp, cooked well and tasty Minuses: my wife's strawberry daiquiri was clearly from a mix and tasted like cough syrup. French onion soup broth also tasted like a mix and was too salty. My wife had the veal Marsala and was disappointed in the mushroom sauce. For the expense ($100 for two, including drinks), not a memorable meal for a restaurant this established. Service was fine, if a little cloying. The busboys were too eager to remove the plates in the middle of eating, making us feel rushed. The restaurant was not crowded. Will probably not go back.

For some reason, this is my parents go-to place when they want to take us out to celebrate something. We go because they invite us, but I always inwardly cringe when they say " how about Jameson's?". The food is just ok, usually. Last time, I got prime rib, but couldn't eat it because it was chewy and tasteless, and the beer I ordered was warm and flat. The atmosphere is pretty nice, but the background music is often so loud that its difficult to converse. The staff is friendly and attentive, but that's just not enough. My son ended up with food poisoning and was sick for 2 days after eating the London broil. Needless to say, we will not celebrate here again.

If you're in the mood for a good steak at a decent price, this is the place to go. By no means is this a premier steakhouse but it does satisfy a carnivore's hunger. As far as the sides go, I love the garlic mashed potatoes as you can actually taste the garlic (yum!), the bread is OK but they should replace the broccoli with something else. Don't get me wrong, I love broccoli, but I would like to see a mushroom cap or some beans as well. Bottom line - I like variety on my veggie plate rather than a big piece of green broccoli. Overall, I highly recommend this place and keep coming back for more!

I dined here recently. Mind you, I have been at this establishment on several occasions since they've opened. I wouldn't consider the food extraordinary, but it's always been palatable enough to where it deserved return visits. My most recent visit is probably going to be my last one. I'm not sure if they have changed chefs, management or both, but the quality of food and service have gone down. Most meals come with soup and salad. I usually get their chicken noodle soup, which is always tasty. On my last visit it was bland and it tasted something like Campbell's chunky soup. My main entree consisted of artichoke chicken. It was okay at best with too much salt. My mom ordered chicken Marsala and it was way too salty. I prefer my food a little on the salty side, but this was over bearing. She informed the waiter of her dissatisfaction. The waiter couldn't do anything about it because of their policy so he had to first inform the owner. I found this a little strange, but whatever. A few minutes later the owner stopped by to see what the problem was and he offered to change the order to chicken picante. The dish came out shortly thereafter and it was also extremely salty. We're not sure if it was the sauce or the chicken that was overly salted because both dishes came out the same way. We ended the evening by ordering dessert and coffee. My coffee never came out. I decided not to even mention it to the waiter, as I pretty much had it. It's too bad to see a decent place make such a drastic turn for the worst.

What a great value! We took my dad here for his birthday and everyone enjoyed their food. They bring warm loaves of bread to the table and all entrees come with soup, salad, and potato, so you definitely don't leave hungry. The portion sizes are huge - my petite filet was a tender, fist-sized chunk of beef, and my sister's slab of ribs hung off both sides of the plate. Everything was cooked to expectations, although my husband's strip steak was a bit on the rare side of medium. Service was OK - a tad slow on the drink refills, but otherwise fine. The atmosphere was nice - not nearly as dark and depressing as many steakhouses. I look forward to a return visit.

This place has THE best steaks you'll find anywhere. They are charred, and cooked perfectly every single time. It's an old school steakhouse...nothing fancy, but it's dark, warm and comfortable. Kelly and Yorgo, the bartenders, are top notch and prepare the best drinks, in addition to providing exceptional service. My only complaint is the other bartender Andy. I don't know how he keeps his job. He won't/can't make martini's and will ask one of the other bartenders to prepare the drink. He forgets your drink order and we waited over 20 minutes for our check (after asking twice), because he was too busy entertaining his family to provide even mediocre service to the customers at the bar. Andy aside...try this place out...you will be thrilled with the food and the service!

Okay. First and only time I will go there. Whole Athenian Chicken--dried out to the consistency of jerky. The most overcooked piece of chicken I have ever had. My wife's baked chicken breast was cooked the same as mine. Not bad, but unexceptional, flavor. Garlic mashed potatoes--bland, off-flavored, grainy. I asked for a caeser salad and was given a browning green salad with "creamy caesar dressing". Wasn't I clear? So they gave me blue cheese dressing--easily the worst I have had since school cafeteria days. Highly touted baked onion soup. The cheese was a hard, uncooked slab. I didn't complain. When a place has fallen this far and hard, why bother? Happy birthday to me...sniff...sniff...

Company Lunch or Work/personal Anniversary celebration? Why not celebrate with a big fat juicy stake. The cut of the meats are excellent and they know how to lock in all the flavor. If you like steak this should be put on your list of places to go. Although reasonably priced, it's not the best place for a weekly lunch gathering but I'll definitely be back here in the near future With all ups there are downs and the biggest one here is the inconsistent water service. I've been here three times already and each time the service was different. Good, Bad and just so-so. Wonder what I'll get next time.

Awesome place for a tasty and flavorful work lunch! Just started working in the area and came here for a lunch with the boss and the food was great! I got the Cajun Chicken sandwich - juicy chicken with lots of spicy flavor, and it was enourmous! Can't beat that! Service was attentive and friendly and depite it being busy we were seated promptly. Looking forward to going back with the hubby for dinner sometime!

One of our favorite steak places. It's a staple place to get a good meal at a good price. We have never been disappointed. It's traditional american cuisine. The soups are always excellent, my favorite being the cream of mushroom. Don't be afraid to be specific about how you want your meat cooked, send it back if it's not correct. That is the only thing they are iffy on at times. My mother in law swears by the London Broil, it's the only thing she gets. My husband gets the Kansas City Stip steak. It's HUGE! I have to roll him out of the place when we leave.

I have been to Jameson's many times- and I have never experienced such poor service as last night. Nine of us had reservations at 7:00 PM last night. We were seated by 7:10 PM since the entire party had shown up on time. Great! But oh- now let us WAIT. And WAIT- you do get the point? Other tables seemed to be fairly well attended to. Yes, this was a busy Saturday night. BUT, everyone at this table felt the same way. To the point, that we tried to contact the manager to let them know about the extrememly slow service. BUT, no manager appeared. How slow? Dinner did not get placed in front of us until 8:45. Everyone agreed that the food was generally tasty, well prepared- but oh-so-LATE. On the way out I spoke to a man who said he was a manager and briefly told him about the poor service. He said he was sorry- didn't really offer anything like next time call me and I'll be sure this won't happen. He also didn't know about yelp.....now he will.

The restaraunt reminds me of a nice, cozy ski lodge. Since I am not a steak eater, I opted for the shrimp fettucini. This very large, fragrant bowl of pefect pasta, creamy sauce, and colossal shrimp did the trick for me! It was so delicious and such a large portion, I could look forward to the next day's lunch already. The service was perfect, and the cosmo's were strong.

My hubby loves steak (he says it's the Irish in him). After moving to A.H. we ventured out to Jameson's for a simple dinner. It was good. It's not super spectacular, but it does hit the spot for steak without the 4-$ budget. We've always had good service. Never had to wait for a table. We dress casual so we usually get put in the bar area which is no big deal. The prime rib dinner special is an amazing bargain!

Great Restaurant. This was my first time coming here, recommended by my brother. We went here for Mother's Day and enjoyed the atmosphere. My family is a bunch of cheap carnivores , so this place fit well. I got the Rib-eye, and I must say it was good. It would have given five stars but they did over-cook my steak. However, it got a 4 because the overall meal was great. You get soup AND salad. If you're around the Schaumburg area, definitely make it a pointe to come out here.

Please note: if you want a nice, quiet dinner and your drinks to be refilled in a timely manner, don't come here on a weekend. I still love you Jameson's, just not on a weekend.

I love Jameson's! I visit there way too much (On average $400-500per month!) The steaks, and fresh fish are for the most part GREAT. However, the MANAGEMENT, and SERVERS need a little, er A LOT of improvement in customer relationship! After dining there tonight, (which for the most part, was AWESOME!) I had their Macadamia Crusted Tilapia, and so did my wife. Her's was great, mine tasted as if the fish was DEAD for DAYS, and sitting in the SUN! When I complained, the waitress said she would tell the manager (Huh...right) He looked as if I was trying to steal something, or scamming him! It was very awkward, but since I never had an issue before was willing to pay for the dinner, and just right it off...even if it was BAD! (Just how I am) What added INSULT to INJURY, he took off the price of the dinner $18.95 - BUT HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE $9.95 FOR THE SOUP & SALAD!!! I paid extra for their Baked French Onion Soup (delicious by the way) Nevertheless...for a restaurant as good as Jameson's is suppose to be, THAT WAS PETTY, UNCALLED FOR, AND ENOUGH TO START LOOKING FOR ANOTHER STEAK PLACE TO SPEND MY MONEY! FYI, For the most part Jameson's is unequaled in their meals, but...as a wise man once said: "If you build a thousand bridges, do they remember you as a bridge builder? However- just screw up once-its all they ever remember.

I've been curious about Jameson's since I go by it on the way to and from work. The parking lot is always packed and for good reason. I got the London Broil and it had three large pieces of tender meat covered in a delicious sauce. It was absolutely the best London Broil I have ever had- and was only $14.95! That price included both soup and salad, also excellent. The decor is also quite charming and the server was attentive without being intrusive. Originally, I thought I would give it 4 starts (because in my mind 5 star meals seem more fancy and introduce you to different tastes). There's nothing particularly fancy about Jameson's, but it completely deserves a great rating. Great price, delicous food, pleasant and relaxing decor and talented wait staff.

Good place for a business lunch or dinner. Great steaks, so-so fish. Cozy atmosphere. Hmmm...I really have nothing else to say. Overall, I'd give Jameson's a 6 out of 10.

What do you do when you're in Chicago for work and your next appointment is right on Dundee road? You go to Jameson's Charhouse! WHOOPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! A rip roaring good time. Ok so that's not true. But it was a very good lunch with good service. This place had a nice comfy feel, with tons of booths and a bar in the middle. Food was great lunch fare- I had the steak caesar salad which was more than enough food and very tasty. Also the bread they bring to the table came with really tasty butter, the kind that tastes whipped and creamy. Everyone else's food looked yummy too. Warning, you are about to witness the fiery segment of my review, which delves deeper into my experience with an overly eager waitress who approached our table probably 6 or 7 times throughout our meal. TOO MANY TIMES! Waitress was TOO eager to the point where you wanted her to take a chill pill. During a lively conversation at our lovely table, she approached for 3rd time during an otherwise very pleasant and tasty meal, for what reason I have no idea other than she obviously displays attention seeking behavior by over performing...and interrupts our convo, creating an awkward breach in a VERY funny story only to ask: "Is everything going well for you?" Me- YES , F-ING YES (the f-ing yes was only in my mind). (internal thought "F-ing YES G*D DAMMIT LET US EAT OUR F-ing lunch in PEACE and NO I don't want any more coffee or water or dessert or whatever it is you want to interrupt about for the umpteenth time because you simply have a burning desire to affirm yourself by repeatedly approaching our table, and you need therapy!!!!" JESUS H you know what. Well besides that, it was great. Sorry if I offended that waitress but she needs to take a chill pill.

We were on our way to another restaurant that we frequent last night. Drove by Jamesons and said why not give this place a try. We drive by it all the time. Boy was that the best dining decision I've made in 2010. I ordered the Whole Athenian Chicken. It came with soup salad and fries. All for a whopping...$14.95!!!! It was literally a 3lb chicken. The skin was crisp and the meat was juicy. I have not had chicken this well made in at least a year. Our server Michelle was wonderful as well.

From the moment you walk in and observe the two host arguing sets the stage for the night. The un-attentive hostess who seems to be bothered when asked a simple question to the hosts that would rather be home playing poker, this place is sub par. The waitress who must of been trained in "i don't care either" was really pissed that we brought in our three kids and two of them ordered one didn't. My wife only has side salad and soup. When my daughters kitchen tenders came with fry's that looked like a few bites were already gone I asked for new fries. I had the Blackend spicy chicken that was crucified and for all the paprika they put on it they forgot salt and seasonings. It was tasteless. No butter came out with the baked potato. The Greek salad dressing was very good. Soup was (chicken with rice) had no chicken in it and just a small amount of rice. It tasted like flour and water. When we paid and left no one said or asked how our dinner was or even thanked us for coming. I would pass this place. It's always the small things that make a dinner memorable and I just assume to forget this one! Enjoy and good Yelping!

I would never recommend or go back to this place. It is an over priced, low quality of food steakhouse. They try to make it upscale and charge higher prices but quality of food is not worth it. Menu says hand formed burger patties they were definately preformed frozen burgers, dry and no seasoning. We got a philly cheesesteak sandwich and it had a chunk of steak on it that was very tough and grissly. We got a kids cheeseburger and fries and it was $7 while the adult burger that had bacon on it and came with soup fries and coleslaw was $9, definately too pricey for a kids meal especially when the burger was so dry and overcooked! There was also a big party that was done eating upstairs near us and not that this is the restaurants fault but the kids from the party kept lurking around our table because my son had toys out on table, they kept just walking around the whole restaurant, management should have asked nicely for kids to stay with the party. Server was good, a little hard to understand because of accent but still a good server, he was the only thing good about restaurant, except the ranch dressing, its the only thing that tasted homemade.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Jameson's. My company decided to hold our holiday party here today, and I was worried that it would be the same old banquet fare: predictable, bland and general carb overload. I was right on one (the carb overload), but the food was actually pretty delicious. The dcor was very tasteful for a suburban lunch joint. Wood ceiling beams strung with lighted garland and red ribbon, a huge stone fireplace in the middle of the main dining room, Christmas music pumped in at a perfect volume. We had probably three servers dedicated to our party of about 50, and they were amazingly attentive. One took my drink order as I was mingling, before we sat down, and he told me, "I'll find you when you sit down." And he did. My Diet Coke was with me even before I'd found my name card on the table; he deftly maneuvered through the crowd with his tray. He'd done big parties before. As the servers and bussers were handing out wooden cutting boards with fresh, hot loaves of French bread, I asked for some olive oil, and while they couldn't bring it to me right away, I had it within minutes. Impressed. I had a chicken breast stuffed spinach and (supposedly) feta cheese, but I didn't find the feta, one little crumble, until I got to the very middle. But it was served in a very rich sauce as well, so I didn't mind the lack of actual cheese. I'd eaten enough of that amazing bread that I wasn't so hungry, but I still managed to power through most of it. We were moved through the meal quickly, but I never felt rushed, and the servers' timing was right on. Our tables were pre-bussed so we never had plates crowding the table, and everything ran so smoothly. In the main dining room, there was a massive lunch crowd, and the tone of the entire restaurant was generally jovial and satisfied. I'd go here again without a group to sample some of the regular menu items. This is an awfully rambling review for a fairly run-of-the-mill place, but here's the bottom line: The atmosphere's pleasant, the servers were amazing, and the food won't disappoint.

I have been here for dinner and for lunch. The amount of food is amazing, for the price. They pork chops are excellent, the steak is good, and red boiled potatoes is a must have. Dinner get soup and salad. It is a nice casual place to have a good meal. The service is always been good. I will keep going back, they do it right.

Went there for lunch with family and relatives because the first two places we tried to go were unavailable. Our relatives, who were locals, said, "there's always Jamesons." Even though the restaurant had plenty of tables, we had to wait for a couple of minutes, then were seated at nice round table. The decor is old-school - lots of dark wood and naugehyde. Most of the patrons were either elderly or having parties. Hmmm. We mainly ordered sandwiches and burgers. They give you a lot of food. Things on a bun come with soup or salad, coleslaw and pickles. Pretty standard American stuff, but done reasonably well. Onion soup was not too good. Creamy chicken with rice soup was decent. My Reuben sandwich was very good, but there was too much meat, which maybe should not be a complaint but a good Reuben must have the proper balance of components. The Philly steak sandwich was a large sirloin steak topped with grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms and covered with melted cheese. It looked good but was difficult to eat. The burgers received favorable reviews. The fries were large steak-type, and were crispy and hot. Service was attentive. All-in-all, it is a decent place. I expect the dinner food to be good based on lunch experience.

This was our first time back since New Year's Eve - that was a disaster. But I was ready to go back because the food has always been good, I've always enjoyed it. Soup AND salad, entree, potato, bread - and very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. I had NY strip - it was excellent! My wife had the veal marsala, which was OK, but the marsala was more of a gravy. Service was pretty average, but they kept our iced teas full.

I have eaten at the Arl HTs Jamesons countless times over the past 10 years. Initially it was just terrific, as the years have passed however, I have seen a downward slide and my latest experience has cured me of my desire to return. The first "problem" is upon entering the restaurant, if you opt for the side door rather than the front, you are hit with an obnoxious bathroom smell. It is thoroughly overwhelming, over the years I developed the habit of not inhaling until I had reached the hostess station. It is really rank! We are always seated quickly although not necessarily greeted warmly. At times the staff could use a bit of training in making guests feel welcome rather than an intrusion. Seating is usually fine, unless the rest. is empty & you are led to the table next to the bus station! Food is usually very good, & yes, soup & salad are served with your entree, and bread & (now) a butter "product". Last visit I asked if real butter was available as what was served was not (it's served whipped in a dish). The waiter said it was butter, I said I didn't think so. He returned & said it was butter mixed with margarine, I asked for some regular plain butter, love the taste of real (fresh)butter. Someone else (manager/owner?) came to the table & asked who wanted the butter, he had brought a slab that had been sliced off of a 1 lb brick & rather ungraciously gave it to me. Unfortunately, I should have stuck with the blend, this was butter, but with an awful off taste, you know how butter absorbs refrigerator odors? well this must have been in the back a LONG time! As to the meal, the fish had sat under the heat lamps long enough to dry it out, the broccoli was barely warm & limp, my dad's steak was overdone. To bring the experience full circle, it had rained severely the entire day & apparently there is a sewer problem. Although you always smell the food aromas, after sitting for some time I became aware of the stench of sewer gasses wafting over us, it was really terrible & even though it wasn't the bathroom smell you are hit with upon entering, it was enough to put the lid on my experience. I have had the lamb, Filet, Prime Rib, salmon, more times than not the meat & vegetable have been great, but the ambiance and graciousness were so lacking this time around that this time I am really through with Jamesons! Remember, this is the Arl Hts location, their servers & clientele are different than the other location & quality may be also!

Low quality restaurant masquerading as high end steakhouse! Please let me start this review by letting you know that the part owner, George, is insanely rude and doesn't give a damn about his reputation or costumer service. I'll start at the beginning, and then we'll get back to George. My husband and I brought our 6 month old baby here on Easter Sunday for Lunch. It was our first Easter as new family, so we were looking for something on the nice side and were willing to pay up for it. This place serves soup and salad with your meal. On this day they only had one soup, chicken and rice. What was brought to our table was a corn starch glob with chunks of chicken and white rice. Despite the looks, I figure I'll give it a try. I dunk in my spoon, and what comes out? A long black hair! Ok, benefit of the doubt time. Hair in the food can happen even at the best restaurant, simply an accident. I send the soup back, and tell the server to please do not bring me another one. Next up are salads, iceberg lettuce, and dressing in plastic soufflé cups. Mind you, this is an establishment that charges an average of $30 an entrée. Way to keep it classy! And now for the kicker! My husband ordered a bone in rib eye. The cut was so chewy that it was hurting his jaw after two bites. TEN MINUTES AFTER our food arrives the server comes to see how it is. He tells her its chewy, and she takes his plate away without saying a word and leaves. She comes back a few minutes later to say she'd be out with a new one shortly. She brings the new steak, and once again it is chewy to the point of hurting my husbands jaw. This is a man who eats at world class steak houses for work on a regular basis, so I do not doubt when he says a steak is of poor quality. The server comes back to check and he lets her know its still not good. She mutters as she walks away, "'I'm going to have to send someone out, because there's nothing I can do." Enter the part owner, George. He comes to the table and booms, "What's the problem here?" My husband kindly and discreetly lets him know. This man proceeds to point to my husband's food with his finger an inch away from touching it, and tells him what a fine cut of meat it is. He tells him, "You only ate the outside, you need to eat close to the bone. If you want a more tender cut of beef, next time order a filet. There is nothing I can do for you" My husband tells him he took two bites of the steak ad he isn't happy with it. He asked is there really nothing you can do? The owner said VERBATIM "Not only is there nothing I can do, there is nothing I will do." At this point I can no longer bite my tongue. I told this man that it is disgusting that an owner of a business would treat their customers in this way, and he should be ashamed of himself. He told me he would not argue with me and he walked away. The server brings us our bill, and she is practically in tears. She is apologizing profusely. Luckily we had enough cash on hand to decide to leave cash for the bill, minus the steak that my husband did not eat, but the owner refused to take off our bill. We gave the server a twenty for her tip and explained the cash was to pay for the remainder of the bill, minus the steak that we would not pay for. She started crying again saying that the George would make her pay for it, and that he told her to make sure we didn't leave without paying for the steak. So we told her we'd take it to the front. On the way out a manager thanked us for coming. I handed him our bill and explained the situation. Midsentence, George appears! He said, "So they're not paying for the steak? That's ok, I wont call the police, since it's Easter." This man is a disgusting slob who buys cheap meat and tries to pass it off as quality. Look at the other one star reviews, and you will see that it is common practice for him to treat his patrons in this way. If you want a good steak in the area skip this place and head over to Stoney River, where they care about their reputation!

Don't bother making a reservation on a Saturday night. They overbook and are rude at the front desk. Food is decent, but not worth dealing with a garbage staff.

I have no problem with the food. Been to this Jameson's location often. Really good appetizers. Surprisingly they have the best Buffalo Wings in the area. Crispy not soggy and the right amount of hot. Very good burgers too. Here's why the 3 stars - the inside is dark and gloomy. The services is dry. The bar is mehhh. Still keep coming because its the only decent food under a mile.

Ok. I was wrong about this place. I ate here about 15 years ago, hated it and never came back. Wifey said she heard things were better there --- and she was right. This place is really really good. The decor is typical-nice-steakhouse style. A bit of a wait but the food rocked! The soup and salad were delicious. The strip steak was very good. We didn't stay for desert but I'd come back! Look -- it's a mid-priced steakhouse (under $75 for two of us without booze) but the quality is on par with those high priced fancy establishments.

I have tried really hard to like Jameson's but it just does nothing for me. The food is very mediocre and bland. Especially for the price, $15 for chicken that tastes like rubber? No thanx. The staff is nice, but I just can't get over how boring the food is.

Perfect value for what you get! The food never disappoints! I've referred this restaurant various times to family and friends and everyone always gives good feedback! The interior is nicely decorated and the customer service is great!

We've come to Jameson's several times and in several locations for multiple family occasions. We've never been wowed. I feel bad saying it, but Jameson's is very reminiscent of a retirement home lunch hall. While the décor and ambiance are very nice, the food is below average. To be safe, I'd stick with their steaks, which are honestly nothing to write home about. But you can be assured that they're probably fresh because that's what they're known for. The rest of their menu is so extensive, you can almost guarantee that the majority is not fresh. Everything comes with an iceberg salad, cup of mushy soup, steamed broccoli/carrots, and a few potatoes. Everything is overcooked ... we had chicken noodle soup (flavor decent) that had noodles disintegrating. The broccoli is truly retirement home soggy. We had crab cakes that were clearly used with canned crab ... unfortunate. The only thing we enjoyed were the onion straws, which are hard to mess up since they're just fried onions. If our 'older generation' family members didn't like Jameson's so much, we'd never go.

A place to get steaks. It doesn't suck, and it ain't 5 star. A step above Outback and many steps below Gene and Georgetti's Service was fine and prices are commensurate. It's an upscale "Place to eatâ„¢"...

I'm sad to say this place was so disappointing. I came here last weekend with a party of 9 and the only people who enjoyed their meal ordered something non-steak related (seafood & Greek salad). Filet....just okay. Prime Rib....terrible and flavorless. Philly Steak Sandwich....just a hunk of untrimmed meat. Burger....just alright. Only saving grace was the baked French onion. Seriously, I should've stopped there. The meal was all downhill after the soup. I have to say though, it was the best BFO I've ever had. And that's saying a lot because I get it at every restaurant that has it on the menu. I guess I won't be back to this restaurant :-/

Crazy food value here. Love the old school dinner-comes-with soup, salad, potato, and side. I'd say their bone-in prime rib is one of the best in the Chicago area. It's huge! It's medium rare! It's got a coveted bone without extra cost! It comes with creamy horsradish and/or regular. It's available every day! It's marbled just right. It's 100% melt in your mouth beefy goodness!!

Great restaurant for a special dinner out. Very curteous and attentive staff make your meal that much more special. There were many multi-generational tables enjoying themselves. The ambience is subdued traditional with knick knacks in nooks and crannies, but folks ver casual and relaxed. We started w some spinach and artichoke dip, very addictive! Gooey and hot and amazing. I ordered the filet with peppercorn sauce and a baked potato. Delish. They also make a great Arnold Palmer! Will be back soon!

We are Chicago natives in from out of town for a wedding. This place was close to our hotel and seemed like a reasonable choice for dinner. We ordered some apps and the calamari came out with a nice portion but it was terribly chewy. Then comes the steaks. Party of 6 all ordered med rare. 3 of the them came correct but the other 3 were way overcooked. In this case if I am the manager I come over and apologize and get another steak. Then accompany back to the table and make sure it is right. First we tell the server that it's over cooked then she has to find "big George". 4-5 minutes while everyone else eats. He has to then examine and approve the overcookedness. Then of course they bring out undercooked steak no manager accompanying. We tried to explain to him that our meal was sub par. Offered to take the steak off and calamari but was unapologetic. Don't go here unless you set your expectations low. We will never return.

Had dinner here last night. I had prime rib which was very good. Others in our party had the salmon and chicken marsala which were also tasty. The drinks seemed to be watered down. More ice than drink. Stick with wine or beer for a better value. The service was less than you would expect. Waiter got lost several times. We asked for two checks on several occasions and of course he forgot. In summary its OK but certainly not outstanding.

Always good food... And you get a lot for your money: soup, salad, entree. HOWEVER as one reviewer said, you make a reservation and then you wait. and wait... And wait. Doubt they ever say no on the phone. Our waiter this time was less than enthusiastic, we were envious of the table across from us... Their server ( female) was hustling. So if you enjoy waiting and being told " you're next" ( and then watching them seat people ahead of you quietly) come here. Food is great, service ... Not so much.

The pits. We went with a group. The place was crowded, so I was expecting good food. Well, I am not into spending $30.00 for a steak, so I went with one of the cheaper entrees. To start, I had the Chicken Tortellini Soup. It was salty and not that good. My wife had the French Onion soup. That was the best French Onion that I tasted in a long time. For Entrees, My wife had the Chicken Marsala. That wasn't so good. I had the Mediterranean Sea Food Pasta. That was the pits. The shrimp was hard and over cooked. The clams were over cooked. When you opened the shells, the meat was either gone or it had shrunk to a small piece. The scallops were microscopic. The squid was the only thing that was cooked properly. That's surprising because cooking squid properly is hard. The sauce sucked. It was supposed to be a tomato basil sauce. What I got was a bland tomato sauce with a pile of basil on top. The the service wasn't that good. Our group had to be split to two tables. The other table was just finishing their meals, and we still haven't gotten our entrees yet. Somehow, our waiter missed putting down my choice of entree, and never came back to verify what I ordered. That held things up in the kitchen. The others at our table had steaks. They didn't like them. The manager came to talk to us and just gave us lame excuses. Will never in a million years go back. I'd rather starve.

I went too Jameson's off Dundee Rd. In Buffalo Grove, Illinois on Nov. 6, 2014 at aprox . 4:45PM. I state that be cause The Manager refused too give his name, was overwhelmed rude. I note that I have a chronic voice disorder, I only have a bare whisper of a voice so My Twin Sister had too order a med/ well steak Sandwich for me. I note she hates conflict so she backed off when the but she ordered med/ well. I got the steak cut into it too see how it was inside, it was a little too pink but I was going to eat it, it was Tough, I could not chew it, we called the waitress over and she said she needed too get the Manager. Well, he came with a not so friendly face with a menu in his hand . My sister said the meat was tough! He stood over me saying" you took one bite ( it was said very rude and repeatedly" take another bite "over and over, I told him it won't change, but he "badgered me into it so, I tried it again it was still tough, then I asked for something else he pulled the menu and said" did you not read this," they were not responsible for well done Steaks". I tried too show him and tell him it was not well done it was med/well but he refused too stop repeating this! I said " what about the paying Customers are always right" he said too bad nothing else. I said I was putting this on Yelp and Facebook, his reply "Don't Threaten me" I said I not! So I put this on facebook and Yelp Once I find someone who can talk for me I will call their Cooperate offices too report him as well. I then asked for something else , asked his name several times and he just walked away. I was shaking! The Waitress came over and kept apologizing over and over, I told her that it was not her it was he should apologize, she asked me what I wanted and I ordered something the same price as the Steak. She offered free Deserts but I thanked her and refused. I just wanted too leave. The waitress said again how sorry she was, she charged me for the Hamburger only, the manager wanted me too pay for the steak. I am outraged over this. We have a group of 20 people who do dinner once a month and have used this place, however, after this those 20 people and all my facebook friends plus who they tell will Never go there again. I would have walked out of the restaurant, but My sister was still eating.

So if your really looking for fine dining look elsewhere. This place has some great dishes, decent steak and good value for the price and as others said you won't go home hungry. Their Greek 1/2 Chicken is as good as what you would find at a traditional Greek spot. I recommend.

I wish I could give a zero-star review of this place. It's absolutely NOT a true steakhouse. Low quality food at a medium-high prices. Manager/owner is a pathetic excuse for a restauranteur. I ordered a ribeye steak. It was so chewy I couldn't swallow it. Our server was nice. She got me a second steak without question. The second steak was slightly better, but still not what I consider edible. The manager came over and insisted the steak was perfect. He wouldn't allow me to switch it for a different entree or take it off the bill. He simply said its a good steak, that I should cut around he chewy parts, and that I had to pay for it....I paid for the rest of the food, drinks and tip our server. I didn't pay for the steak and explicitly told him so. As we left he ever so professionally mentioned that this time he wouldn't call the police. Needless to say we will NEVER eat here again and certainly won't recommend it to anyone else.

My #2 favorite restaurant. Service is usually good but the last two times I went they did not offer fresh ground pepper for our salads which they always use to do, I miss that. Food is almost always cooked perfect. If not the manager will check the food and have it remade. Ambiance is warm and cozy. Alway clean throughout. My favorite items on the menu is cream of chicken soup (only served on sunday), salad with homemade creamy garlic dressing, which all comes with my favorite entrée steak & rib combo. Keep in mind that by the time your dinner comes you'll be so full you'll need a to go box. I did have one very bad experience here years ago when I got a clam in my creamy chicken soup. I'm allergic to clams so I was considered. The manager actually accused us of putting the clam in the soup ourselves to get free food. We were insulted beyond believe but eventually had to go back for the wonderful food. So they loose one star for that unforgettable experience.

This place is awesome for work lunches and groups. The food is good, not amazing. I've had a few different things. The Cajun chicken sandwich was not very good because the chicken was over cooked and dry. Their Jameson salad with grilled chicken on top is a huge portion and awesome with vinaigrette. Lastly, I have had the roast beef sandwich, which is my favorite. Very fresh and cut to order on a french role with french fries and coleslaw.

Always good food, better than average prices and good quality. We were seated at the bar today - not our choice, but it was 8pm on a Friday, thought may be the dining areas were full - disappointed to see that tables were available. It was not a pleasant experience - watching a scantily clad woman in her 50's visit different men at the bar - looked I like it was a group having a good time, just what you see in bars - but not appropriate when you came in for a nice meal - spoiled it. Sat at the corner booth - the air conditioner vent over the seat dropped a couple of times - ugh?! Should have complained, but that too would have spoiled the meal - restaurant should ask guests before seating them at bar, explain wait time, provide choices - will not allow this to happen again

Went there with my family for Thanksgiving. Service was substandard with a rude waitress. Towards the end of dinner, 2 service staff literally got into a shoving match. I got hit in the back and I almost knocked over my 82 year old uncle with a hip replacement. The manager said he would "suspend and possibly fire" one of the staff but did not really apologize and did not offer to compensate somehow our party for the trouble, despite a $500 bill. I will not be returning if I can help it. Horrible service and response from management. Turkey was okay.

Got here tonight at 6:15pm on Saturday, May 9th. The place was totally packed but wanted to check and see what the wait was. A totally unfriendly hostess asked for our name and stated that the wait was 20 minutes. 50 minutes later we were called. That is RIDICULOUS! Tell us the truth from the beginning! Why is that bitter, unfriendly woman at the hostess desk - really! She hates her job and it shows. The food was very good, london broil and chopped bleu steak - it was very good! The server was friendly and kind, but the service was so slow and inattentive, I was disgusted.

If you're looking for fine dining look elsewhere. Dark under lighted old school decor, This place has some good dishes, and good value for the price. I did not find it to be a friendly place - I am referring to the staff and management, Soup listed as homemade - seemed to be more homemade style from a can.- Sandwich had one day - bread was cheap wheat bread, Little avocado. It filled me up but was not a Wow experience

1st time @ the restaurant, we had reservation and arrived on time and we were promptly seated and waited on, service no problem. It was a busy Saturday evening drinks and food were delivered as promptly as possible with the crowd, had no problem with quality of the food, drinks or staff.

Like Valerie W. Said before me, Jameson's is a very consistent restaurant. It isn't one of those places that I crave, but every time I go there I leave full. Jameson's is open later than almost all of the other restaurants in the area. Jameson's is the place my family goes after someone arrives home on a late flight and wants a real meal. I'm not going to lie. This IS an old person restaurant. But isn't there a little old lady in all of us? Hike up your pants, tuck a napkin into your collar, and enjoy your golden years! They really want to feed you here. Fresh bread is delivered to the table and entrees come with soup and a dinner salad. I usually opt for the salad because I LOVE creamy garlic dressing and this is one of the few restaurants where I can get it. You also get your choice of sides on your entree- rice, baked potato, mashed potato, broccoli, etc. I've been coming to Jamesons at least once a year for almost 20 years now, and I can probably count the dishes I didn't enjoy on one hand.

This location is the original Jameson's Charhouse and the only one of the restaurants that is not part of the chain. The first time I came here for a company party the food was decent but nothing to write home about. The second time I came here the service and food improved significantly. I ordered the strip steak and the portion was huge! I ordered the steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The flavor was perfect and had just the right amount of char. Then I had the tiramisu for dessert. It was nice and light but had a bit too much nutmeg in my opinion. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would go back if I was with the right company!

A lot of people I work with eat here & I was looking forward to having a nice Valentine's Day dinner here. I called & made reservations & the lady told me that they closed at mid-night on Valentine's Day so that was a big plus. I arrived at 10:45 to find out that the kitchen closes at 11 which the lady didn't mention when I had called earlier. One of the first things our waitress said was that the kitchen is closing & to place the order quickly. I don't like to be rushed especially when I'm buying an expensive meal & I was a little upset they didn't tell me that the kitchen closed at 11 when I called earlier. I ordered a French Onion Soup for appetizer & my girlfriend had a salad along with a potato soup. My soup was pretty good & the portion was decent. The salad that my girlfriend ordered was average but her soup pretty good. For the entree I ordered a Filet Mignon & my girlfriend ordered the Shrimp Fettuccine. I was looking forward to having a great steak. When the meal arrived I took three bites & ate no more. It was over cooked & I can say it was one of the most disappointing steaks I've had in a while. I told the waitress & she told me the kitchen was closed so there was nothing that could be done. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because my girlfriends Shrimp Fettuccine was excellent & the portion was big. I also ordered a Chocolate Mousse for dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was fantastic & was big enough to share between two people. Overall the service was ok, the ambience was nice & classy but the food was good & bad. I would probably give it a try again but not for dinner. I wouldn't order steak here again either, only the pasta.

My fiancé and I came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We had a reservation at 7:30 which was no issue to make last minute. We got here a little early so we asked to sit at the bar which was fine, but all the bartenders are Greek and think it's a good idea to talk about people in Greek. Guess what? I'm Greek and can literally understand what your saying. It was ridiculous. Then to make matters worse as 7:30 rolls around we wait for a couple minutes to be called but when that doesn't happen my fiancé goes up to the hostess to see what's going on, I see him wave to me and hope that we will be seated right away. Yea no. A couple without out a reservation just walks in and is seated right away as we are literally standing there. Wow, nice service. The hostess was incredibly rude and didn't even have the decency to look my fiancé in the eyes to speak to him and gave us attitude the whole time. Another couple that had been waiting until we finally got to go to our table like 10 minutes later. This lack of service should not be happening especially to those that had a reservation. Very very rude and completely turned me off. The food was decent and reasonably priced and our waiter was nice. Probably won't be back as I feel that good service adds to my eating experience and the food wasn't good enough for the way we were treated. I usually don't post reviews but felt this was necessary for anyone trying something different for a date night, try somewhere else I know I will next time.

I think their price point is reasonable. I had a filet mignon which included soup, salad, choice of potato and their steamed broccoli and carrot. I liked how they cooked my steak to my liking (medium rare) which made my filet mignon very tender as they should be. Their other cuts are all good and cooked correctly, too. Their atmosphere is dark and dim with 90's music. I little loud for my liking but I grew up with these song so I did not mind it (and brought back memories). Service is friendly, nothing spectacular but our server recited the list of dressings they have and the types of potatoes we can have (to all of 3 us individually, so I guess she does it quite often). I usually get the steak here but maybe next time, I should order their poultry, seafood or pasta.

I went here with a group of friends on a Friday evening....... Food: appetizers and food were ok....nothing too special..ordered a house salad (costs ~$10.00) and they give you a lot of food for it.. the salad came with a soup as well.. Service: I felt like the waiters were constantly waiting on us while we ate to take our plates away..I guess that can be good and bad.... we also did have an incident where 2 ppl ordered steak cooked medium and the two steaks were not alike ....so we commented to the manager (whom we later found out was actually the owner of the restaurant) and he said why don't you two just switch plates... I was shocked by his comment and thought that was really rude!! we requested that we get another steak that was cooked correctly as we ordered and it came out eventually; however, by that time.. everyone was almost done eating... I think due to the incident we should have been compensated for the steak..however, they just charged us.... I do not think I would go here again knowing that the owner of the restaurant provides customer service in that manner....

FYI: THEY DO NOT ACCEPT JAMESON'S CHARHOUSE GIFT CERTIFICATES DESPITE HAVING THE NAME JAMESON'S CHARHOUSE. This is so incredibly disingenuous and misleading to customers. To make matters worse the manager almost seemed happy to deliver us this bad news after 5 of us treated ourselves to steak dinners because we had this gift card. The fact that we were all coming from a wake and on our way to a funeral did not change anything for this nasty, heartless staff. I joined Yelp just to give this review and warn others about this restaurant that wants to take Jamesons customers, but not their gift certificates.

Let me start off by stating I never write reviews and give every restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I took my brother here for his birthday. First time for both eating there. We both ordered filet mignon's. When we received our food, my brother noticed a horrendous odor emitting from his steak. The stench was overwhelming. Then I receive my steak and it also had a horrific smell. We both cut into our steaks, trying to figure out what they had just served us. My steak cold and looked as if it was microwaved. After cutting the steak in half, the smell intensified. There is no doubt in my mind that my steak was spoiled. My brother took a bite, against his better judgement and I can tell the discomfort from the smell and taste. The waiter approached and asked how our dinner was so far. I politely explained the situation to him. He smells our steaks and agrees that the steak smells horrible. He said he was going to get a manager/owner to come speak with us. As kind hearted as my brother is, he tells the waiter that we don't want to get anyone in trouble. We wait for about 10 minutes, eating the steamed vegetables (since we both figured we won't get food poisoning from veggies). Some disheveled middle aged fat guy walks over in an accusatory and defense manner. He hovered over our booth and yells "what's the problem?" We politely tell him that something is off with the steaks. He doesn't attempt to smell the steaks or look into it, instead he tells us that the steaks are fresh, then walks away. We both were so amazed by the unprofessional and rude demeanor. Not wanting to make a scene on ruin our time together (as we barely see each other as working professionals) we just finished our coffee's and caught up on life. The waiter comes back and said, "why aren't you guys eating your steaks? If you don't eat them I'll just take them home." There was NO attempt to fix the situation. I paid the bill for 2 steaks that we couldn't eat due to them being spoiled. I found myself apologizing for a horrible dinner my older brother had to endure for his birthday. About an hour after we leave, my brother who took a bite of his steak felt sick and I had to pull over while we were driving due to him puking. I wasn't going to leave a tip, but Due to the goodness of my brother who persuading me to leave a 20% tip for the waiter because he understood that the owner and manger is the real problem. One thing is certain, we will never go back to that place and will spread the word to everyone. You have been warned.

Food and drinks were okay. My filet came out way overcooked, and the manager brought a new one. A free drink or dessert might have been a nice touch.

Jameson's is one of my its-around-the-corner-and-i-don't-feel-like-cooking-but-want-better-than-mcdonalds places (did you catch all that? Good. Continue.) The food is consistently above average. The menu is huge. You can get a burger, salad, chicken, steak, pasta, you want it, you can have it. It's mostly traditional American. I've never had anything there that I haven't enjoyed, and it's been at least 10 years, if not more. Service is consistent. Food comes hot. All entrees come with soup AND salad. The bleu cheese dressing is homemade. The french onion soup ROCKS (one of my most picky food items.) Steaks and burgers always come the way you order them. Oh, and wait until at least 6, unless you want to eat with the oldy-moldys. They'll be done and gone by 5:30. :-)

The food here has always been excellent and my review would have been higher until today. Our waiter who we have had before, had a terrible attitude and it almost felt like we were burdening him by being seated in his section. When our bill came, I had a VISA gift card to use. He came back with the check portfolio and told me that they do not take gift cards because their system isn't capable of accepting them. I was shocked that a restaurant would not take a gift card. Be warned if you want to use a gift card that this restaurant will not take them!

We just moved down the street and decided to see what the buzz is all about. Ate dinner there and I'm STILL trying to figure that out. Steak was dry and subpar. Salads were uninteresting. Overall presentation of the food was very low, looked like my mom cooked it and just dropped the food on a plate....not what I would expect from a so-called steakhouse. French onion soup was good though. This place seems okay for non-foodies or people who've never eaten a high quality steak before. I must have been there on an off night or ordered the wrong things, because I always hear people talk about how much they like it. Still, I probably will never return. I love great steaks and great steakhouses, but when I'm looking for a moderately priced, good quality steak dinner with the family (instead of going downtown) I'll be choosing Outback (off Lake-Cook). This place is totally passable.

This place is fantastic. It was our families first time going out to dinner on Christmas Eve. It was crowded when we first got there, but our reservations were for 7, and we were sat at 645 because a table opened up. The 6 of us loved the dinner menu for Christmas Eve. Our server Candy was just the best. We will definitely be back to visit her and to enjoy another amazing dinner. Thanks for the 2013 Christmas Eve Memories.

My wife and I went there for our anniversary - service was wonderful, very attentive wait staff. Calamari was good, soup and salad also good. The horseradish steak (filet) that my wife ordered was very good as was the creme brulee. I ordered a ribeye, cooked medium rare. It came out well done. I'm not sure the steak was a ribeye, it resembled a strip. I wish I would have said something when I was there.

I've eaten lunch here twice and dinner once while on business trips. Each time, I am pleased with the quality of the food. The service has always been top notch. The ambiance is on the dark side but the restaurant is inviting and comfortable. I will return again.

Went to this this restaurant for the first time last Wednesday for a business luncheon with some customers. ordered the shrimp kabob which came with a salad. The salad had a hair in it but tried to ignore it. Didn't even mention it to the manager. My shrimp kabob came with a side of rice and the rice had a hair in it. I was really grossed out and this time I did tell the manager. He took it away and offered me something else but since it was a business lunch, I didn't have the time to wait for something so I said no. The restaurant didn't charge me for the lunch, which was expected but was really surprised that they didn't offer me a gift certificate for a future visit or even a complementary beverage. I consider Jameson's an upper class type of restaurant and it really surprised me. I even emailed the restaurant the same day and did not receive a reply. This will definitely be my last visit.

Been going here around once a month for over 4 years. That should say it all. Really good food at a moderate price point. The service has always been good, especially the waiter George, pretty quick & we've never had to wait long to be seated. Of course on the weekend you better have a reservation, but overall a good, dependable restaurant.

I used to frequent this establishment quite often, but have been avoiding it lately for many reasons. Unfortunately, we ended up dining here last week and things haven't gotten any better. The waiter was impatient when taking our order, yet drinks took forever to arrive. The soups we ordered came out cold and had to send them back (probably microwaved). The food finally came out but was "meh". There are MANY times in the past where we order the chicken kabob and it always comes out barely cooked, and always needs to be sent back. The dishes here can be found elsewhere - no reason to come back.

Popped in on a Wednesday night in the summer with a large group of 6 adults and 2 kids without a reservation....the up-front folks were friendly and got us set up efficiently. The service was good if a little over-whelmed at first, but very smooth once he caught up. The place has a very specific atmosphere - it's dark and not hip. The food was straight-forward and very good: highlights were the stuffed mushrooms and london broil. They made a very stiff Manhattan that I appreciated. All in all - a very traditional place with a very broad but conventional menu. The price was right. They did everything well and earned plenty of props from me. a note on the kids: they didn't have a separate kids menu, but they worked with us to take care of them. The dining room is dark and packed so there's not a lot of room to run around. They get "good for kids" from me because they took care of us - but it's more of a place for grown-ups.

Don't go here on Saturday even with a reservation! We waited for an hour and 15 minutes with a reservations. After complaining several times, we were told 10 minutes each time. Outrageous! It's not like there went tables either. Parties of 2 and 4 over and over were called and we were a table of 3. Hello? Rude hostess and bad management. Poor experience!

I've lived 1 mile from this restaurant for about 5 years. I've eaten here 3 times, last night being one of them. Each time I go, I am pleased with the food and the value--you still get a salad and a soup with your main dish. The service, though, is just so-so. Last night my son and I went for dinner around 5:30. The food was fine and plentiful, but the service is just so----- (insert adjective of choice). So, in a nutshell, come here expecting good value but not necessarily a really pleasant dining experience.

We've been coming here for some time and have generally been pleased. However, if you order and pay for a soft drink at the bar, you will be charged for an additional soda if you order it while at a table. So, look closely at your bill. The other night we waited over an hour for a table even though we had made reservations. The hostess showed us the table we would be seated at ( it hadn't been cleared yet) so we went over and eventually sat down. The waiter came over and told us that this table was for a party of 4 (we were 2) and intimated that we were not going to get the table. I told him about the hostess leading us to the table and also said that if there's a problem, there are plenty of other restaurants that we can patronize. He backed off in a hurry, but we were ready to get up and walk out. Somebody ought to tell him that a restaurant is in business to serve customers, not satisfy the waitstaff.

I've been doing a lot of major holiday gatherings here for years now and it never loses its groove. I love the cuts, the service, & the atmosphere. The parking is a little bit of a pain when the lot gets filled up on the holidays but it is totally worth it. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time. I've seen so many people wait in huge clusters for 40 minutes to an hour before getting a table. The bar area is pretty nice to kick back and have a few. Very friendly and professional staff.

Really? People LOVE this place? In Chicago? Land of Chop Houses and Steak Houses galore..... Well, okay then. This is the Denny's version of a Steak House---lots of bland, possibly previously frozen food for around $10/per person. Went here for lunch yesterday as we were in the area and thought it would be a nice stop for lunch. Service was meh....she struggled a bit with English but was nice enough. Could not ask any questions for the language barrier was a bit frustrating so we opted for a burgers and chicken entrees. Soup was canned for sure, salad was just a handful of iceberg and a whole tomato, which was interesting. Burger was fine, chicken was previously frozen and smothered in sauce. Okay food, but I would definitely not come here again as there are just way too many other AMAZING places to eat in Chicago.

This place is an old school mid priced steak house where you get a good quality decent solid meal for your buck. You get soup, salad and a loaf of french bread and butter for starters. The entrees come with a variety of potato or rice options and some plain steamed vegetables. I get the London broil every time I come here, and have never been disappointed. My husband likes their liver and onions. The portions are large. Its not the kind of steakhouse that you would go to for a special occasion but more like where you would go when you are craving a good meal but too lazy to prepare it yourself. Their service is attentive even during peak dinner hours and their food is consistent. The menu has something for everyone.

GREAT Steak!! the sides and ambiance?...not so much. but hey, I came here to eat steak. I was actually expecting the worst for the steak because it was so cheap! for $22 I got a ribeye steak (no bone), soup and salad and sides. The wife got a small filet with a horseradish crust and that was pretty good too. it was supposed to be a 6oz piece, but it was huge! she even asked the waiter if it was the petite filet. my ribeye was tender, juicy and very tasty, and was cooked perfectly medium rare. I was very impressed with it. the sides were meh... but as long as they cooked the steak well, I didn't mind. I'll definitely be coming back for a well priced meal.

We went here based on Yelp reviews. FACT: You get a lot of food for your money. FACT: That food is not very good and the water tastes funny. (Weird tasting soup, dry meat and over cooked veggies) FACT: i always take my left overs home but I broke that rule with JC's ... I just told them to throw it all away. I don't even want homeless people eating this food. Not a fan. I don't know why you guys liked this place.

I was not impressed at all by Jameson's at all. The atmosphere is casual and dark. We were seated in a booth quickly, so that was a plus. Out server was nice, but a little hard to understand. I will say that you get a lot of food for your money, but the food just isn't very good. The soup (cream of broccoli) tasted like something out of a can. The salad was nothing to brag about, just some greens on a plate. The chicken was dry and pounded thin, the broccoli was limp and tasteless. The only thing that was good was the mashed potatoes and bread. Again, the service was great, but if a restaurant doesn't have good food, why would you eat there? I didn't even want to take the leftovers home.

Except for a very rude obnoxious bartender who forgot what country he lived in, I absolutely loved this place and can't wait to go back! The food, service and quality of food and value was excellent!!! Had the shrimp and butt steak all perfectly prepared. This place was busy and lively. I recommend! Btw, there are other jamesons in the area... Not created equal...had a terrible experience at one several years ago.

Went with my husband on a lazy Sunday. Got a booth very fast, waiter was nice and friendly. Got the bread thing going, ice tea and coffee. Menu is ok,not much to choose from,I got fish fillet with a side of rice,my dEER hubby got ribs. The meal included soup AND salad. Plus, got another loaf of bread and a buffulo wings appetizer. By thr time we were done with wings, bread, salad, soup,we were soo full. Asked the waiter to wrap the entrees to go. Bill was only 50$! Left a server a hefty tip,he was very good. Later in the day,had the food. Ribs were really really good,my fish fillet was ok,crusted in some seasoning and was very very very salty. Rice tasted good but had this "out of the box" taste. Its a good place to get a "quick fix". But id never go there for any special date. Don't go there with high expectations! Very casual atmosphere, will come back.

Service is great and I had one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life! Each bite would literally melt in my mouth, SO GOOD! The price is really not that awful, compared to some other restaurants that have the same price but mediocre food. The one and only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I didn't like my mashed potatoes. But I should have known better since I'm very picky about mashed potatoes.

Used to work right around the corner and had a few lunches here. Never thought much of it, it was always good but just realized this place is a home run. Usually I get a fish dish here and always fantastic, great flavor and good portions. Last week got the blue cheese steak lunch special and told myself I'd only eat half and take half home...yeah, that didn't happen - all gone! Service was great, hostess and other servers accommodating. Great solid place I'd highly recommend.

It had been awhile since we had been to Jameson's so we thought we'd check it out again. Had been there for dinner before, and had a couple private parties in their upstairs area years ago, and was very satisfied. It was a Saturday night and rather busy so we waited a bit for our table although we had a reservation. Had a drink at the bar and was surprised at how inexpensive the drinks were. After being seated at our table, it took a while for our server to approach us and it seemed to take a while for our meals to arrive. I had one of the specials - Macadamia- encrusted Talapia - and my dinner companions had the NY Strip, Salmon, and Chicken Alfredo. All meals were tasty and generous in size, and came with soup or salad, and potato or rice. Maybe I need to go again, but I just wasn't overly impressed by the experience. Service was mediocre - didn't even catch our servers name and she had zero personality and never smiled. Food was decent but not exceptional. The best thing was the prices of the meals and drinks. Very reasonable. Would rather pay a little more, though, and be "wowed"! Chicago Prime Steakhouse in Schaumburg comes to mind as their food and service is exceptional, and the entire staff truly cares about their customers. But I'll give Jameson's another try.

Food: 3.5 Stars... Bread, Soup AND Salad, good steak (we'll call it great for the price), potato and presentation is a tad underwhelming. As something of a potato connoisseur I feel it would behoove Jameson's to go the extra mile. Service: Fast, even when they're busy on a Friday or Saturday night. I've never left with a complaint. The ambience of Jameson's is that of a high-end, recently remodeled Supper Club. It is dark, well decorated, with booths and tables. They don't skimp on the portions or the options, and the food is reasonably priced. If you were deciding between a $45 meal at (insert chain here... somewhere a notch above Applebees or Friday's) and a $50-$55 meal at Jameson's (with drinks), it would be a 1-star and a 5-star comparision. I'm giving it a 4-star since I think Jameson's considers itself (rightfully so, possibly) a notch above this tier. There is room for improvement, but I wouldn't have it any other way. And if it's the difference between a 4-star with a ton of food or going for that 5th star by cutting back on the portions and increasing the price and quality... Put me in the first boat with the women and children.

Went here twice during my brief visit to Chicago over Christmas, once for lunch with my boyfriend and his grandma and again for New Year's Eve with my boyfriend. Okay, so my boyfriend kept telling me how steak tastes different out in the Midwest due to what the cattle is fed, and I didn't really get it until I went here. So this place is no Morton's, but it was just my style: pretty laid-back and homey I would say. For the first visit (lunch), I got the KC Strip Steak, and omg, it was amazing. For the price (like $12-$15?), it topped any $30 steak back where I'm from (CA, for those interested). I liked it so much that my boyfriend set a reservation for New Year's Eve. For NYE, we got there about 5-10 minutes before our reservation time and were told it'd be a 15-20 minute wait. We waited for at least half an hour before we were seated. Sadly, we discovered it was a fixed menu for NYE. I didn't mind since I'm pretty easy to please, but my boyfriend doesn't like creamy soups and there was only one soup choice available. :( I got another steak and my boyfriend got the Shrimp DeJhong (or however you spell it). I snuck a few bites of the Shrimp DeJhong since I've never had it before, and I'm certainly a fan. Note though: the garlic is VERY strong, almost to the point of bitterness. For dessert we, I had a creme brulee and he had a key lime pie if I remember correctly (either that or a tiramisu). BEST creme brulee I've had, period. Really can't wait for the next time I visit Chicagoland, because I will be stopping by here!

I have dined here for years and have always had a great meal and terrific service. The fish is especially good-fresh and properly prepared. Plus it is a great value with both soup and salad included. And they serve a pretty hefty cocktail!

Jameson's Charhouse is one of our favorite restaurants. We go at least once a week. You cannot beat the food. The steaks are delicious! The fish is excellent also. You get a loaf of hot bread and butter to start. Then you also get soup and salad to go with your meal. My husband orders either steak, ribs or porkchops. I order steak, scallops, or shrimp. This restaurant is one of the best in the area! Try it you will not be disappointed!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
